開発者のスティーブ・トラウトン‐スミス氏（@stroughtonsmith）が、Xcodeの最新バージョンを解析したところ、Apple Watch Series 7にはSeries 6とまったく同じプロセッサが搭載されていることを示す記述が見つかりました。

Apple Watch Series 7とApple Watch Series 6はどちらも”t8301” CPUを搭載している、と記されています。これは”Apple S6”システム・イン・パッケージ（SiP）に含まれるプロセッサのコードネームです。
どちらも同じ番号のCPUを搭載しているということは、Apple Watch Series 7とApple Watch Series 6のCPUは同じものであることを意味します。
最終段階で修正不可能な問題が発生した可能性
Appleが、ひとつの製品に用いたプロセッサを別の新しい製品に搭載するのは珍しいことではありません。しかし開発者のギレミー・ランボー氏（＠_inside）氏は、Apple Watch Series 7のCPUがApple Watch Series 6のCPUと全く同一というのは（新しいモデル番号すら与えられていない）、最終段階において修正不可能な問題が発生し、昨年と同じCPUを使用せざるを得なくなった可能性があると指摘しています。
